The mountains of the western Great Basin were largely settled by miners, and the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains are rich in history and ghost towns. Bodie is one of those, boasting ruins you can still visit today. Designated as a National Historic Landmark, Bodie is said to have had 5,000-7,000 residents at one time.

In my mind’s eye, I imagine the Bodie Shawl worn as a practical but pretty frill in the town’s heyday. Simple, but much greater than the sum of its parts.

2016, year seven of my lace and shawl pin club, is here! The club has four installments, sent starting January, April, July and October 15th. The 2016 patterns will all be delivered via Ravelry as an eBook - much like my small shawl subscriptions. The purchase price includes the full year - 4 patterns plus a year-end surprise. The eBook will be available for purchase throughout the 2016 club year, but the single patterns will not be released for sale until 2017.

The patterns you receive will be brand new designs. For those of you who would like to join me, there will always be knit-alongs for the patterns in my Ravelry group.
