Following the newest home decoration trends can get a little pricy and tricky combining it with your own style and interior. Therefore I am always trying to make some of my own decorations to not only fulfill my need of being busy, but also decorating my house on a budget.

Making your own home decor is budget friendly, can also be a great gift for friends and family, gives your home a personal touch and makes it feel cosy and warm.

Notes:

Size: Depending on yarn used, about 26cm wide and 30cm long (not including fringe)
The wall hanging is worked in rows.
The wall hanging is worked is worked form the buttom up.
The first stitch of each row should be placed intho the same stitch as the turning chain.
The turning chain does not count as the first stitch of the row and is also NOT indicated on the chart.
The entire wall hanging is worked with single crochet (US terms)
The pattern is written as: (single crochet + colour number) x times to repeated the stitch. Example: (sc-1) x 10 = 10 single crochet with colour 1.
Odd rows are as indicated the right side, even rows are the wrong side.
I used the cut and tie method to change colours, but mixed it with tapestry crochet or leaving the yarn attached and working with multiple yarn balls attached to the work.
It is important to change colour at the second half of a single crochet, when you ‘yarn over’ the second time, use the new colour.
Gauge is not important, as long as you are crocheting tight and even.

You will find first the chart, then the colour blocks pattern and at the end the written pattern. The numbers within the color blocks indicate how many times the color is repeated.
