This cute little top will make a nice addition to any wardrobe. It adds just the right amount of warmth, accentuates and hugs the curves in all the right places. You can leave it open or buttoned up. Dress it up with a blouse or wear it more casually over your favorite T-Shirt.

This listing is for the PDF knitting pattern of this bolero vest. It is knitted from the top down.

The pattern is written with short sleeves in mind as seen in the sample, but extra length can be added to accommodate long sleeves (ellbow length or 3/4 length).

This pattern works very well for handspun yarn.

The body of the bolero uses about 4 oz of bulky yarn knitted with size US 17 (12.75 mm) needles.

The trim is knitted with thinner yarn & size US 8 (5 mm) about 2-3 ounce, depending on yarn and how deep you want the trim to be.

Please keep in mind that you will need more of the main bulky yarn if you wish to add longer sleeves.

The sample shown was knitted with a warm & fuzzy mohair/viscose/acryl/wool mix.

For the deeply ribbed trim I used one of my handspun yarns, a lovely Lincoln lambswool mixed with kid mohair.

Vintage button and crochet lace edgings polish off the flirty but stylish look, but are optional. Instead of the button you can also work ties.

The pattern as written will fit best a size small/medium, with a bust size of 34 B/C.

Larger sizes can be accommodated by using a thicker yarn for the body and bigger needles or adding stitches and length.

Skills needed: casting on, knit, purl, ribbing, yarn over, casting off, sewing on button (optional), crochet (optional)

Happy Knitting :)
