YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
Petite, average and tall, extra tall size will fit most ladies and girls from age 12 up. Instructions for fine tuning the fit are given at the end of the pattern. To decide on size, ignore dress size. Instead, measure from one wrist, up the arm, across the shoulders, down the other arm and to the wrist. Sizes will finish to 56, 60, 64, 68” for this measurement. Select a yarn that gets 4-4.5 stitches/” and 6 rows/” on a mid-gauge or bulky machine. Mary Lue’s Liberty Plus was used for the sample. A second gauge of 7 stitches/10 rows/inch for standard machines is given in brackets. The petite and medium sizes take 2 full cones. Have a 3rd cone on hand for tall and extra tall.
