Bonne Fete to Dragonfly Fibers on ten years! Their birthday gradient, Dragonfly, inspired this design. It features a beaded dragonfly motif running down the spine; if you’re not up for beaded knitting, there is a non-beaded option. The shawl is kept simple to let the colorway shine!

Finished Size: 26” depth, 78” wingspan

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Dragonfly Gradient in Dragon Sock (100% Superwash Merino), 6 1-oz skeins of 95 yards each.

Needles: 32” circular needle, size 4 US (3.5mm), or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 20 stitches/28 rows per 4 inches in wet-blocked stockinette stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect size, yardage used, and drape.

Beads: Instructions are given to add beads with a tiny crochet hook rather than pre-stringing. I use a size 12/1.00mm hook for beading. Sample shows 8 repeats; each repeat takes 36 6/0 beads. The sample uses one tube of Beader’s Paradise 6/0 Czech Glass E Beads in the colorway “Dragon’s Eyes”, available at Joann’s Fabrics.
