Boquete in Bloom Cowl
Boquete in Bloom Cowl is inspired by the beautiful flowers found throughout the community of Boquete, Panama. The vibrant mix of raspberry pink, lavender, soft teal, gray and warm coppery brown echoes the lively colors that bloom in every corner of this charming highland town.
Designed to be both beautiful and wearable, this cowl adds a colorful touch to your everyday wardrobe. Let a gorgeous variegated yarn do the colorwork, or choose your own combination of colors to create a look that is uniquely yours.
Pattern Details:
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - Intermediate
Finished Size: 51” in length (before seaming) x 8” wide
- The finished size is easily customizable to your desired length and width preference, simply by increasing the number of stitches in the foundation row or adding pattern repeats before seaming.
- Adjust yarn amounts if adding to the length of the cowl.
Construction Notes: Worked back and forth in rows using a 2-row pattern repeat that creates a soft, flexible fabric with lovely textural interest. The piece is worked until the desired length has been achieved and then seamed together to form the cowl.
Yarn Suggestions: This pattern works well with most all yarn types: use a variegated colorway if looking to achieve a similar visual effect or work with solid yarns for a classic look. Adjust hook size to accommodate yarn choice. The cowl pictured used nearly 2 full skeins of the Paca Paints for a total yardage amount of 440 yards.
Additional Materials:
- 5.0 mm hook (or hook needed for your yarn choice)
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
This pattern has been thoroughly tested and includes detailed photos to help clarify the pattern stitch.
