The Borealis Socks are the final instalment of the Aurora collection. Inspired by the northern lights, the Borealis socks feature a sweeping cable design up the front of the sock reminiscent of the lights travelling across the night sky.

In sizes for all the family, knit in Doulton Border Leicester 4ply, these socks are knit from the cuff-down using a heel flap and gusset. This beautiful cable design is used on the adult socks, with a more simple version of the cable used for the smaller sizes. The cable runs up the front with the rest of the sock knit in stocking stitch. Sample is knit in the ‘Saltholme’ colourway.

This pattern uses the German Twisted Cast On method. If this cast on is unfamiliar to you, or you need a recap, I offer a free tutorial on my blog. You can find more details on my website www.susayerdesigns.wordpress.com
