The Boreas Sweater knitting pattern showcases an intricate colorwork pattern on the yoke and cuffs, inspired by woven textiles created by my mother, who introduced me to knitting and other crafts at a very early age. The chosen colors were inspired by the Boreas River in the Adirondacks.
It’s as much a heritage piece as it is an ode to the subtle, misty morning colors in the fall Adirondack Mountains in New York State. The colors and shapes dance together in harmony, with the yoke being the principal star of the sweater.
The sweater is knitted top down, seamlessly in the round. Short rows are worked at the bottom of the yoke to improve fit.
