A slightly cropped boxy t-shirt, with short sleeves and a crew neck. Knit with two skeins of sock weight yarn on 3.5mm needles it is a quick knit and comfy fit with easily adjusted body length. Experiment with colors or make a monochrome version, or change up the colors of the seams, plenty of possibilities to make this top uniquely yours.

Several strands of inspiration went into this top. One was a slightly cropped, boxy top that I wore for years before it fell apart. I wanted to recreate this top forever, but I needed a sufficiently bouncy and drape-y yarn to really capture the way the top fit. Insert The Fox and the Knight’s BFL! A lucky find, as I initially only ordered the yarn because I loved the name of this specific colorway, Seven of Nine, one of my favorite characters from the TV series Star Trek Voyager. She used to be a Borg drone, but is severed from the Collective by Captain Janeway and slowly recovers her humanity, with quite some hilarious misunderstandings along the way. However, as the top I wanted to recreate has stripes, I needed another color to go with it. After much consideration and help from The Fox and the Knight I settled on the colorway Resistance is Futile, which is coincidentally named after one of the Borgs favorite phrases. And after using two Borg related colors, I couldn’t really get out of naming this boxy top the Borg Cube obviously, even though this meant breaking with my naming tradition of archaeological topics. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the knit and I’m looking forward to seeing all the variations!
