Born Of Spirit is a heart shaped shawl that represents the metaphysical concept of Spirit. Born Of Spirit is worked from the nape of the neck outwards with a wide central column. The main motif was chosen for its structural beauty, elegance, and complexity. The central column motif is evocative of lotus flowers as they are characterized in ancient Egyptian tomb paintings. The border motif represents the word “resist,” and is chosen to reflect the spiritual imperative to rise up and resist oppression in all its varied forms.
