These Bottle Buddies are really quick and easy to crochet and you only need oddments of yarn to make them. You can have endless fun creating your own characters!
They are just the right size for a standard 75cl wine or spirit bottle and would make a perfect addition to a gift!
We’ve added a few Characters to the pattern but we’d love to see what you come up with. With that in mind we’ve set up a special “Bottle Buddy Rogues Gallery” over on Pinterest!
The original covers shown were made using oddments of Wendy Serenity Super Chunky Yarn and Twilleys Freedom Yarn. The crochet hook was 6mm providing a finished tension of 3 stitches and 3 rows to approximately 2.5cm/1″. The overall size of the finished cover is approximately 31cm/12″ tall and 29cm/11.5″ around. This is measured flat and un-stretched. It will fit a standard 75cl wine or spirit bottle. You’ll need a very small amount of stuffing for the nose (though scraps of yarn will be fine) and some black yarn for embroidering the eyes.
Go on, go wild, see what you’ve got stashed in your imagination!

Please note - I’m based in the UK and my patterns are written in UK terms but this one is really easy and worked entirely in Double Crochet (UK), Single Crochet (US).
