This installment is the start of the blanket: from Round 29 the design expands and begins squaring the mandala/cushion into a blanket. Written instructions with step photos and two video tutorials. US crochet terms.

• Rounds 29–42: chain‑space rhythm, reinforced corners, and a framing texture that sharpens the edge while keeping an even fabric.

Materials & sizing
• Yarn: DK / #3 Light. Good options: Stylecraft Special DK or Scheepjes Colour Crafter. Cotton option: Scheepjes Cahlista (slightly less elastic).
• Sample shades: Fuchsia Purple 1827, Powder Pink 1843, Spring Green 1316, Kelly Green 1826, Lapis 1831.
• Approx. total usage in the sample: 113 g · 333 m · 364 yds (your yardage may vary).
• Hook: 3.5–4.0 mm; adjust to gauge.
• Gauge (10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in): 20 sc × 22 rows; 20 dc × 8 rows.
• Finished size after blocking (approx.): 140 × 140 cm / 55 × 55 in.
