The color pattern for this cowl is adapted from the “bouquet” design used in Persian rugs. The cowl has a narrow garter stitch border to provide finish to the edges.

This reversible cowl is worked flat, in double-knit, and grafted into a circle. A provisional cast-on is used to allow grafting. The cowl is about 45” (114.3 cm) long allowing it to be wrapped around the neck for extra warmth.

The sample was worked with Bio Sesia 5, a fingering weight cotton. It used about 275 yds (251 m) of burnt orange and 142 yds (130 m) each of claret and hemp. You may find 4 stitch markers helpful with this.

This pattern has two color charts, one with the full double-knit and one a stranded-style chart.
