I created this cowl pattern using a Stitch 84 from “The New Knitting Stitch Library” by Lesley Stanfield. The results reminded me of the blue Bow River in Calgary and the gentle rapids along the river, with the greenery growing along the river banks, hence the name.

I used 1 skein of Estelle Chunky, colour Q63385, 125m/100g; there was a bit left over at the end. I used a contrasting colour (green) for cast on and bind off - less than 1meter/1yard.

I used my Knitter’s Pride Cubics interchangeables, size 6.5 points.

I used a simple cast on in a different colour on my piece. This was just to add some contrast. I bound off in the same contrast colour. You could use your working yarn for the bind on and cast off within the same meterage/yardage.
