I have been playing around with knitting 3D shapes recently, and I loved the quirky bow tie shape this pattern produces. It reminded me of the “Doctor Who” television series, especially in this gorgeous blue merino. I apologize wholeheartedly for any rubbish Doctor Who jokes in this pattern!

Skills/Techniques Used
Casting (binding) off and on, increasing and decreasing stitches, seaming. I used long-tail for the initial cast-on and backwards loop cast-on for the bow tie stitch pattern.

Sizes
Circumference: 50 (100, 150) cm.
Depth: 21 cm.

One repeat of the bow tie pattern (24 sts x 36 rows) is 5.5cm wide x 12.5cm long.
