I designed this cardigan because I wanted a fluffy cardigan that would knit up quickly. It will fly off your needles!

This cardigan is knit top-down, making it easy to alter the length of the sleeves or body. This is a beginner sweater featuring a raglan fit, a shaped V-neckline, long sleeves, optional short rows at back hem, and afterthought buttonholes.

The Box Top Cardi looks great with a range of positive ease.

• Rust sweater is shown in Size 5 on a 38-inch (96.5 cm) bust with approximately 13 inches (33 cm) of positive ease.

• Red sweater is shown in Size 4 on a 38-inch (96.5 cm) bust with approximately 10 inches (25 cm) of positive ease.

• Chartreuse sweater is shown in Size 3 on a 38-inch (96.5 cm) bust with approximately 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) of positive ease.

Bust circumference: 35 (40, 44.5, 48, 51, 54.5) (58, 61, 64.5, 68) inches 89 (102, 113, 122, 130, 138) (147, 155, 164, 173) cm; Note: When buttoned, the total circumference will decrease by the button/buttonhole overlap. In the sample, this is .75 inches (2 cm) total.
Yoke depth: 10 (10, 10, 10, 10, 11) (12, 12.75, 13.75, 14.5) inches 25.5 (25.5, 25.5, 25.5, 25.5, 28) (30.5, 32.5, 35, 37) cm.
Body length of front from underarm: 10 inches (25.5 cm), or desired length.
Optional short rows will add 2.75 inches (7 cm) at center back.
Sleeve circumference: 11 (12.5, 14, 14, 15, 16.5) (16.5, 16.5, 16.5, 16.5) inches 28 (32, 36, 36, 38, 42) (42, 42, 42, 42) cm.
Sleeve length from underarm to hem: 16 inches (41 cm), or desired length.

Note: Rust Cardi uses two yarns held together. Chunky (Red Cardi) or Bulky (Chartreuse Cardi) yarns also work held single.

Bulky: 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 9) (10, 10, 11, 12) skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Beatrix in color Jasper, 109 yards (100 meters)/50 g skein, 54% Extra-fine Merino / 30 % Angora / 16% Nylon, or 481 (570, 674, 757, 841, 934) (1009, 1080, 1156, 1237) yards 440 (521, 616, 692, 769, 854) (923, 988, 1057, 1131) meters of bulky weight yarn.

Suri Light Fingering (Lace): 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) (4, 4, 4, 4) skeins of Dimond Laine Birdie in color Caffe, 328 yards (300 meters)/50 g skein, 74% Alpaca / 26% Silk, or 481 (570, 674, 757, 841, 934) (1009, 1080, 1156, 1237) yards 440 (521, 616, 692, 769, 854) (923, 988, 1057, 1131) meters of light fingering / lace weight yarn.

Needles and Notions
US 10 (6 mm) circular needles; long cord for body; 16 inches (40 cm) or double points for sleeves.

Other notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, optional: sewing needle, matching thread, five 1/2 or 5/8-inch (12.75 or 15 mm) buttons.

Gauge
12 sts and 18 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in Stockinette St on US 10 (6 mm) needles. Please block swatch to check gauge.
