The Bracken Sweater is a cabled sweater worked seamlessly from the top down. The back yoke is worked first, flat, in the cable pattern while shaping is created with increases. The fronts are then worked separately, flat, with increases to shape the neckline, before being joined to form the front. The front is continued flat in the cable pattern. The body is formed by joining the front and back and is then worked in the round in the cable pattern. It is finished with a twisted rib and a tubular Italian bind-off. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armholes. The sleeves are worked in the round in the cable pattern and finished with a twisted rib and a tubular Italian bind-off. The neckband is worked by picking up stitches around the neckline and knitting in the round in the cable pattern. It is finished with a tubular Italian bind-off. The sweater is worked seamlessly and requires no finishing.
