The Braided Cowl is a cowl knit flat and seamed at the end along the short side. This is designed to be a beginner-friendly cable pattern, and I had one tester who use this as her first braided cowl pattern!

Pattern instructions are written out for one size (12” wide and 30” long) but it’s easy to add additional repeats to make this as long as you want. Keep in mind that the longer you knit before seaming, the further away from your neck the cowl will sit, so I encourage you to try it on as you go to check your preferred fit. This pattern has been tech edited and tested.

The download includes two files: one with a smaller font and a second file with a larger font size in Arial. Both files have no charts, no italics, and a sans serif font, and both have been checked against a screen reader to ensure that knitters who use screen readers will be able to access the pattern as well.

I knit the sample with just under one skein of Color Made Easy, so this is a great one skein bulky weight project!
