Designer’s comments:

I designed the Braided Rice socks because I wanted a cable sock that was not too tight in the leg and did not have a gazillion stitches. The Rice stitch along the instep and back of leg compensates for the pulling in of the braided cable.
The sock in the photo used Nantucket Red Cherry Tree Hill Supersock. I originally entered it into Cherry Tree Hills design contest for the Supersock Solids. Unfortunately, I was bumped from a placing in the last week. There were enough people locally who asked for the pattern that the local yarn shop decided they would like to offer it for sale.
The ribbing is done using size 1 needles changing to size 1.5 for the leg.
