The Braided Ridge Blanket is a richly textured crochet blanket featuring cables paired with the Almond Ridge Stitch.

While the official name is the Braided Ridge Blanket, I secretly think of it as the “Hospital Blanket.” This project spent a long time sitting unfinished in a basket before I picked it back up while my son was recovering from his second spinal surgery. During those long days in the hospital, this blanket became my comfort project.

This pattern is ideal for crocheters who enjoy texture and don’t mind paying attention to stitch counts. The construction itself is repetitive and relaxing once established, and I’ve included detailed instructions along with links to video tutorials for all special stitches used in the pattern.
