If you love knitting intricate cables, you’ll love knitting this scarf. The scarf combines a very distinct cable combined with a highly textured stitch, which shows off the cable to its best advantage. The scarf is knitted with sport weight yarn, but is warm enough for the coldest day as the turtleneck section ensures that you will be warm. The cable comes to us from Canada and the creative mind of Annie Maloney

The stitches are both charted and written out.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling .)

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged. This is the ONLY crochet in the entire pattern, the optional edging.

This pattern was expertly tested by Kelleigh Bland and was knit using Malabrigo’s Rios in colorway, Jacarda.

This warm scarf works up much faster than a regular scarf, although you can make it that way simply by knitting the focal stitch for the entire length, because it is a Seaman’s Scarf, which means the neck portion is ribbed, similar to a turtleneck, and that part is TV knitting, making it a great holiday gift.
