These socks were designed as first a birthday, and then a Mother’s Day, present for my mother. Because my initial sock didn’t work (I didn’t have enough yarn and couldn’t get more) and I had to change gauge, there are two charts and three sizes available for this pattern. The lace pattern is simple, using only ssk, k2tog, and yo, and the cables are also simple two or four stitch cables.

If your foot circumference is 9”: Use Chart 2 and a gauge of 8 stitches/inch

If your foot circumference is 8”: Use either Chart 2 and a gauge of 9 stitches/inch or Chart 1 and a gauge of 8 stitches/inch

If your foot circumference is 7”: Use Chart 1 and a gauge of 9 stitches/inch.

The sample was knit using Chart 2 and a gauge of 9 stitches/inch with two skeins of Red Heart Stardust.

A note on Kitchener Stitch: I have a hard time remembering when to knit on and when to knit off. Holding the sock facing you, you will see knit stitches on one needle and purl stitches on the other. The side with knit stitches/RS facing is purl on, knit off and the side with purl stitches/WS facing is knit on, purl off.
