Belted capes are one of my all-time favorite crochet layers to wear. The belted cape offers the illusion of shaping due to the placement of the belt. If you cinch your waist with the minimum amount of fabric required and leave the bulk to the “sleeves” the ratio of more sleeve to waist suggests an hourglass shape.

The pattern is written for two yarn weights. This one is for Be So Brave Yarn worsted weight yarn. Click here for the fingering weight version in Be So Fine Yarn: http://www.kristinomdahl.com/whats-new/2017/1/9/vinga-belted-cape-be-so-fine-yarn-version-free-crochet-pattern

The cape as designed is 24” long but you can work another repeat of the pattern (12 rows) for additional length.

For a more relaxed layering look, the cape is equally as pretty without the belt.
