Bravo!

With a big gauge (but not too big), top down knit, super cute balloon sleeves, and a comfortable fit…this cardigan will have you saying “Bravo!” once you’re finished with it.

For best fit, the neck line starts with short-row shaping. The cardigan as a whole is designed as a relaxed fit – the front open, with each front side meeting right at the center (unlike those open front cardigans that you can never quite close in the front). Trendy in shape, the back is 2” longer than the front. Short rows allow for smooth shaping.

The sleeves are moderate balloon sleeves, with the ¾ length perfect for showing a bit of what you’re wearing underneath. If you’d prefer a warmer full-length version, the pattern includes optional “full-length” instructions (note: please add extra yarn if doing so).

If you are a quick knitter, you’ll be able to knit this cardigan in just one week!

This oversized cardigan is super comfortable yet fashionable. Can be worn with leggings, jeans or even a dress! A very versatile design for all ages.

SIZE
The cardigan is a relaxed fit.
Size 1 (S/M), Size 2 (M/L), Size 3 (L/ XL)

  • Back width - 20 (22, 24)“
  • Front width (each front) - 9.5 (11, 12.5)“
  • Back length (all sizes) - 24”
  • Front length (all sizes) - 22”
  • Sleeve length (3/4, all sizes) - 11.5” ❋Optional full length - 17” / Please add extra 100 (120, 140) yards.

YARN
Any yarn you can get the correct gauge - 14 sts / 4”
Yardage - 800 (900, 1000) yards
This total yardage is already added some extra yardage for safety, so you don’t need to add any extra.
Please note that - Woolfolk Luft seems very generous yardages. I could finish 6.5 skeins(about 710 yards) for size 1.

The blue and gray samples are knit with 100% premium acrylic yarn, which are light and keep the shape well.
Blue Sky Fibers TECHNO, WOOLFOLK LUFT, both will be great for this project. The pink sample is knitted with Woolfolk “Luft”.
A combination of 1 strand of silk mohair and 1 strand of chunky weight wool will make a soft luxury fabric.
You should avoid 100% alpaca yarn, as it will be too heavy and stretch too much.

Needles
You need main size needles and smaller (one size smaller than main size) needles.
Suggested needle size - US 9~10.5 / Please adjust the needle size to obtain the correct gauge.

  • Main needles - 32” or longer circular needles and 16” long circular needles.
  • Smaller needles - 32” or longer circular needles and DPNs.
