From the Designer’s Notebook…
I love drapey clothes. Asymmetrical hems. Versatility. And maybe something unusual just for fun. I wanted to design a cardigan with all of those things, and this is what I came up with.

The construction is something I have never done before in a design, and I love how it turned out. The back panel is knit first, and then the front flaps are knit onto either side, leaving arm holes for later, when you pick up stitches and use dpn’s to knit the sleeves to your desired length. Final touches, ribbed collar and hem. The result is a fun cardigan that can be worn open and breezy or pinned closed for warmth. And it fits a broad range of sizes. All in one simple pattern.

Notes on sizing…
Our pictured sample fit a broad range of sizes from a 32” bust on up and looked really nice just by pinning the flaps closed in different places. If you want to knit this in more of a petite size, knit in a worsted weight yarn and your preferred needle size. Likewise, for a larger fit, use more of a super-bulky yarn and larger needles.
