This lightweight cardigan is designed for summer, for those breezy lukewarm days that beg us to go for a walk. The ¾ length sleeves and thin neckband are meant to keep you cool in the warmest weather. Choosing a lightweight yarn will keep you cool all summer, but instructions are also included for full length sleeves to make a cozy fall cardigan.

It is worked from the top down with a raglan yoke and has built in pockets, which are optional (instructions given for both preferences). The sleeves are held on waste yarn after finishing the yoke, then picked up again later to create a seamless fabric for the body. The only seaming required is optional, and is in the pocket sides (the bottom of the pockets is worked with the BO). Short rows are worked on the bottom of the cardigan before beginning the 5” bottom CC band, but are optional if you’d rather minimize the drape in your cardigan.

Here is a link to the project page for the sample.
