First introduced at Yarnify! for the 2018 Chicago Yarn Crawl. Brick and Mortar is a fun, easy top-down knit sock featuring one of those lovely mini skeins you pick up on your travels and then don’t know how to use. You are only knitting with one color at a time, which makes this pattern achievable even for those who have never done colorwork before. The motif features a tuck stitch, which is fully explained with a photo tutorial.

Needles:
US 1.5 (2.5mm). I used two circulars, but DPNs, magic loop or Addi FlexiFlips would work as well

Gauge:
8 sts and 14 rows per inch in Stockinette stitch

Yarn:
MC: 1 skein Three Irish Girls Adorn Luxe (Doge’s Palace) 430 yards, Another option for this would be the Stitch Together Smooth Sock full skeins (463 yds)
CC: 1 Stitch Together Smooth Sock Mini Skein (Pixie Stick Pucker), 92 yards
Yardage is an approximation. You will likely have some yarn left of your full skein, but use most of your mini skein.

Color notes:
This pattern works best with highly contrasting colors. Have fun with your color choices

Note:
This pattern is meant to be printed double sided, flipping on the short side, and folded in half to make a booklet. It may look a little weird when you first download the PDF.
