Bright Bug Caterpillar Ring Stacker
This colourful caterpillar is full of fun for children. The body is made from knitted rings that stack over the body; use the rings as teething soothers for little ones, and as your child gets older play a stacking game for learning colours.
This knitting pattern uses acrylic DK yarns and single pointed needles (work flat, not in the round). Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz
NEEDLES:
A pair of 3.25mm single pointed knitting needles (US 3).
RECOMMENDED YARN:
King Cole Dollymix DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; One 25g/73m skein in each colour.
NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and toy safety eyes.
SIZES:
One size only - Caterpillar is 31cm long, and each ring measures 10.5cm diameter.
TECHNIQUES:
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
