This Brilliantly Basic Beanie is knitted in the round, first with the smaller needle size listed, and then after the brim, is knitted with the next needle size up. The pattern comes with instruction, and a “materials” list for THREE YARN WEIGHTS! Those weights include: fingering, DK, and worsted weight. For fingering and DK weights you will need: size 5 & size 6, 16-inch circular needles, as well as size 6 double-pointed needles. For worsted weight: size 6 & size 7, 16-inch circular needles, as well as size 7 double-pointed needles. The gauge for fingering (2 strands held together) and DK weights: 7 stitches per inch and 8 rounds per inch. For worsted weight: 6 stitches per inch and 7 rounds per inch. Check your gauge because everyone’s tension is so different!. The bones of this pattern should become your blank slate, to create so many different masterpieces.
