Brina Poncho
This listing is PDF CROCHET PATTERN for Brina poncho.
Skill level: ADVANCED
You should know the basic stiches like chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, double crochet etc. All new stitches used in the pattern are explained. You should also be able to read and interpret complex patterns and charts, to know the concept of gauge and maintain consistent tension, to be familiar with basics of making clothing and adapting the sizes if needed.
Poncho (main fabric) is made with slip stitches through front loop (sl tfl) and the turtleneck is made with singlecrochet stitches through front post (fpsc).
This pattern is written in english, standard American terms and includes lot of photos of the process.
Materials:
The materials needed for the polo-neck are marked separately below, so if you prefer to make the poncho without the collar, you just just need the material for the body.
In Meters > Body 700(1050,1400) m + Turtleneck 300(350,400) m = 1000(1400,1800) meters in total.
In Yards > Body 765(1150,1530) yds + Turtleneck 330(380,440) yds = 1095(1530,1970) yards in total.
Yarn is DK/light/3 weight yarn. The beige/grey poncho in the pictures is made together with Drops Alpaca and Drops Silk Mohair (one strand of both to achieve approximately DK weight) and the colorful poncho is made together with Malabrigo Sock (color primavera, 100g=402m) and Drops Silk Mohair (one strand of both). Use any yarn weight to obtain the gauge.
Other yarn suggestions> Willow & Lark Ramble, Schachenmayr originals Wool 125, Universal Yarn Deluxe DK Superwash. You can also combine fine weight yarn with a strand of Mohair to create a fluffier and softer look, like I have done with both ponchos (check the gauge).
