This warm, squishy hat is great for those who want to practice brioche knitting. This hat is knitted using two color brioche. Both ear flaps are knitted flat from the bottom up and then the hat stitches are cast on and the body of the hat is worked in the round. Braids are added to the ear flaps at the end.

The finished hat is about 23” in circumference, but very stretchy so it should fit most adults. For a child size hat, use DK or fingering weight yarn and the same instructions.

February 2020: Updated version has fewer stitches cast on for circumference around the head. This number can be adapted for a smaller or larger hat.
