Briochet Cowl

The Briochet Technique is one of my favorites, and soon to be yours, too! This cowl is ultimate simplicity in construction, being crocheted flat and seamed to create a circular, double sided cowl. This cowl is the perfect scrunchy, slouchy, squishy accessory and can be crocheted in any color combo! Just choose two yarns with good contrast to show off the stitching, and enjoy! Who said Brioche was only for knitters, anyways?!

Yarn:

  • Approximately 400 yds of fingering weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors. You can alternatively use any weight you prefer! See “Important Notes” for further instruction.
  • I used two half skeins of Bumblebee Acres Farm’s Coquette Sock in colorways “Azalea” for Color A and “Bertie Botts” for Color B.

Hooks and Notions:
Crochet Hook in Size I/9*
Optional Progress Keeper
Optional Measuring Tape/Ruler

Sizing and Gauge: If you want to make a chunkier cowl with DK or Worsted weight yarn, just be sure you have enough yards to crochet with the recommended hook size!*
