Picking Your Size:
Choose a size that is approx 2-5”/5-13 cm larger than your actual chest measurement, depending on desired fit. Sample is shown in size 3 (37.75”/96 cm), being worn with approx 4.75”/12 cm of positive ease at the chest.

Gauge: 17 sts & 24 rows = 4”/10 cm in St st after blocking

Note: Getting accurate stitch gauge is more important than row gauge (you can adjust length as needed in the pattern).

Yarn: Approx 510 (565, 625, 680) (745, 805, 865) (930, 1010, 1075) yds of worsted/aran-weight yarn, shown in Silky Wool Aran by Elsebeth Lavold (45% Wool, 35% Silk, 20% Nylon; 50g = 104 yds), 5 (6, 7, 7) (8, 8, 9) (9, 10, 11) skeins, shown in Eggplant 1011.

Needles & Other Supplies:
• US 8/5 mm 32”/80 cm circ needle, or size needed
to obtain gauge.
• For Three Needle Bind-Off: Extra US 8/5 mm circ
24”/60 or 32”/80 cm, or same size used to obtain
gauge.
• Stitch markers.
• Tapestry needle.
• Scrap yarn or stitch holders.


Note: When looking at finished photos that were made from previous version of pattern (which used labels XS, S, M, etc), below is how the sizes compare to the new 2021 version (which now uses labels size 1, 2, 3, etc):
• XS = size 2
• S = size 3
• M = size 4
• L = size 5
• XL = size 6
• 2X = size 7
• 3X = size 8
• 4X = size 9
