The Brooklyn Rib Blanket is a pattern that will always be close to my heart since it was one of my very first designs. The clean lines of the stitch pattern are reminiscent of my hometown: Brooklyn, New York. The sidewalks that line every street, where I spent my childhood playing with friends. And, while the bustling cityscape of Manhattan was close by, the neighborhood I called home was much quieter and more suburban than what most people think of when the topic of Brooklyn comes up in conversation.

I designed the pattern while working in my Local Yarn Shop as a great next step for a beginner knitter who is ready to tackle their first big project. The simple 4-stitch, 2-row repeat is easy to remember, making it perfect for social knitting or binge-watching your favorite shows.

While refreshing the pattern, I’ve given the formatting and written instructions an update and upgraded the pattern to include 5 sizes, a chart of the textured stitches, and a Low Vision and Screen Reader Accessible version.
