This is the first of a series of simple wearable projects I created for a class at Nashville Community Education. My goal was for beginning students to be able to complete the garment during a two and a half hour class. I created the patterns to be able to teach specific techniques using inexpensive yarn. Most students were able to complete the projects during class.

I made the videos for YouTube and requested that students watch the videos before the class. During class, I gave them written instructions and went around and helped anyone who was having trouble with specific steps.

Most of my students went on to purchase their own knitting machines and signed up for the intermediate class, which was almost canceled after budget cuts due to corona virus. The program was saved and we will most likely have classes online in the fall, but I also hope to be able to teach in person again!
