Welcome to Bruno’s Poncho!

I designed this garment to be a nice simple poncho that was oversized and comfortable. The pattern uses knits and purls and is knit in a single piece! I’ve used a chunky yarn to make this a really quick knit that will keep you super warm. There is also the option to add a pocket and hood, which can all be found in the pattern.

This is a poncho so remember that it is an oversized garment! The model is 181cm (5’11”) and is wearing a size L/XL. Increasing the width of the garment will essentially increase the size of the “sleeves” and positive ease. Increasing the length of the garment will result in a longer fitting garment.

Sizes:
Fit Chest
XXS/XS: 70-80cm/27.5-31.5”
S/M: 90-100cm/35.5-39”
L/XL: 110-120cm/43-47”
XXL/3XL: 130-140cm/51-55”

Finished size
XXS/XS: 190cm/79”
S/M: 210cm/82.5”
L/XL: 230cm/90.5”
XXL/3XL: 250cm/98.5”

The pattern requires 8mm needles and 14ply/Chunky weight yarn. The pattern was written using Brooklyn Tweed’s Quarry yarn but you can easily substitute this yarn for an alternative.

Please remember that if you can’t source the yarn that is recommended then try to find a yarn with a similar tension gauge. The tension gauge is the most important part when ensuring your completed poncho is the same as what you see in the pictures. The tension for this pattern is 13 sts x 18 rows.

This listing is a knitted pattern and not a finished product. You will receive a printable version of the pattern. The pattern is written with Australian terms but there are unit conversions in the pattern.
