This is a pattern for knitting a Fudemushi or “brush bug” creature like the creature seen in the manga Witch Hat Atelier. The pattern includes instructions for knitting a taut fabric using one skein of YarnArt Mink yarn (more if you want to make a very long-tailed brush bug), but this plush toy can be knit using almost any yarn and needle size, so long as the knitting is tight enough to keep the stuffing from showing or falling out.

In addition to yarn and needles, you will need a pair of large, white and black (preferably “googly”) safety eyes, some sort of stuffing, and a length of flexible aluminum wire for creating the backbone that makes the brush bug poseable.
