Pattern

The Bubble Bag is knitted from the bottom up. First, the base of the bag is knitted, then stitches are picked up along the edges to continue knitting the rest of the bag in the round. The stripes are created by alternating between 10 mm and 3–3.5 mm needles, resulting in the characteristic bubble effect. The handles are knitted separately and then sewn together to form one continuous handle. The pattern repeat is followed throughout the entire project. Finally, the bag is machine-washed at 40°C for 40–50 minutes on a 1400 rpm spin cycle.

Sizes: Small (Large)

Gauge: 9 sts x 15 rows = 10 x 10 cm using 10 mm needles
Suggested needles: 10 mm circular needles, 60/80 cm. 3 mm or 3.5 mm circular needles, 60/80 cm

Yarn and quantities:

The large bag is knitted using 600–650 g of Drops Nepal (50 g = 75 m). Use two strands when knitting with 10 mm needles and one strand when knitting with 3.5 mm needles.

The small bag is knitted using 400–450 g of Drops Nepal (50 g = 75 m). Use two strands when knitting with 10 mm needles and one strand when knitting with 3.5 mm needles.

Yarn alternatives:

A wide variety of yarn alternatives can be used. However, please note that different yarns felt differently, so using alternative yarns may result in variations in the final dimensions of the bag.

For the orange version of the large Bubble Bag, I used one strand of Hjertegarn Natur Uld (100 g = 100 m) and one strand of Drops Flora (50 g = 230 m). These yarns felt more during washing, resulting in a smaller bag, approximately midway in size between the large and small versions.
