No Gauge:
Depending on how many clips, loops, rubber bands you put on it, it can be used as bib holder, toy holder, pacifier clip, mitten holder, badge lanyard, door stop, or headband.

If you plan on using with small child I suggested any of the 100% cotton yarns. As it will be place in mouth and need to be easily washable.

You can get several items out of a ball of yarn, depend on how long you make it.
