When the concept of the I-cord loop pattern occurred to me I knew that I wanted to create a range of products that used the idea. I explored rainbow coloured patterns in the shawl and the socks. I decided that the cowl needed to use a single coloured contrast and have a theme that related to the colours I chose. The range of blues in the contrast yarn I chose led me to the sea and to waves, using a traditional shawl technique, and Latvian Braids as well as water bubbles using the I-cord loops. In order to create a more random distribution of loops I opted to use the feather and fan shaping to force offsets by always starting these rows at the beginning of a pattern repeat. I’ve enjoyed the knit and the conical shape. I like something that is a bit closer to my neck at its top and wider as it falls to my collar bone.
I hope you have as much fun with it as I have.
