“Buddleja” is a straight scarf/stole worked lengthwise. Its width increases as you add more pattern repeats.
Finished size after wet blocking: approx. 300 × 25 cm (the exact size depends on how hard you block).

YARN: you will need two yarns of similar weight. This pattern is a recipe, so the final yardage and size of the stole will depend on your yarn choice, and how many repeats of the print you make width- and length-wise.

The sample was knit with 4 leaf stripes using 3.5 mm needles and the following yarn:
• MC – Murano Austermann (75% merino, 25% nylon, 400m/ 100 g, used 2.5 balls)
• CC – cone yarn (70% merino, 30% silk, 1400 m/1530 yds per 100 g/3.5 oz held triple, used 75 g)

NEEDLES:
• Main: 2.75-3.5 (3.5-4) mm/US 2-4 (4-6) circular needles on 40-60 cm/16-24” cable (or straight needles, if you prefer). The size of the needles depends on the selected yarn, how tight you knit and your preferred fabric drape.
• 0.5 mm/ 1 size thicker than the main needle (for a looser cast-on and bind-off).

GAUGE: per 1010 cm/44” square in garter stitch after wet blocking
• 25 sts by 17 ridges (34 rows)
