Here is a free pattern for a heavily stylized buffalo, which is the animal for 2010 in the chinese calendar.

The buffalo works out with any yarn you like, and you won´t need much. So maybe you want to reduce your yarn left overs, crochet a buffalo herd, split it up later and send the lucky charms to family and friends for New Year, chinese or not.

The horns are a little bit tricky, but only for a few stitches. Just before you get really annoyed they will be finished.
