These mittens knit up fast and, due to the
flexibility of the tuck fabric, fit most adults well using only 2 sizes.

Knit these on a bulky machine at stitch size 3 or a mid-gauge using a larger stitch size using DK yarn. These numbers appear in brackets. DK gauge is about 3
stitches/10 rows per inch in the tuck pattern. This is a good time to enjoy a luxury yarn because a pair takes about 4 oz. of yarn. Finished size is 88.5” in circumference and 67” from fingertip to the base of the palm. This may sound a bit wide and short but the stretchiness of the fabric makes it a good fit for most ladies. For extra long hands, however, it is simple to add 4-6 rows. A machine with patterning ability is nice but not essential as the tuck pattern may be selected
manually.
