Get your mind out of the gutter: This cloth is only dirty after you’ve washed your dishes. (The “bump” in the title is the stitch pattern, while the “grind” having to wash the dishes.)

Bump and Grind shows how a different hook insertion results in an airy, mesh-like cloth that looks good on both sides. A surface crochet edging dresses up the cloth, and is a great place to use small amounts of leftover dishcloth cotton.

Small amounts of two contrasting colors, in addition to the main color of yarn, are required for the surface crochet edging.
