In northern forests, cheerful bunchberry flowers emerge every spring and remain through the summer. The four petals of this dogwood variety inspired this piece, which echoes the form of the flowers in a cozy sweater.

The Bunchberry Sweater is an oversized, dropped-shoulder top, worked in the round from the bottom up. The four-petal motif emerges in a pattern of twisted stitches and seed stitch. From the bottom of the armscye, the front and back are worked flat and seamed with a 3-needle bind off, and sleeves are picked up and completed.

Stitch patterns are only charted.
