This pattern is published in Mary Jane Mucklestone’s book Fair Isle Weekend. The book is available in 2 versions: in English and Finnish.

Buness is knit straight up from the brim; the crown decreases create shaping between the large flower motif and the leaf motif. The classic flat tam shape is achieved by blocking over a dinner plate.
