GREAT CHOICE FOR BABIES

The rattles are very important for the cognitive development of the baby and they can slowly be introduced since the first months:

1. SOUND- you can hold the rattle and shake it - the baby will be attracted to the sound and move his eyes and later his head
2. COLORS -start with black/white rattles; later you can add colors which can be attractive for the baby encouraging him to pay attention and later try to hold it
3. MOTOR SKILLS - the baby will learn to hold the rattle and shake it for noise - this will help him developing motor skills \
4. THEETHING - the wooden rattle is a great option for the kid to chew on :)

MATERIALS

Before buying the pattern I want to emphasize the importance of using thin yarn and hook. By doing this you will avoid having a huge bunny head, wholes in your toy or a messy rattle. I know it will be a bit hard to go around, but it will be worth it – you will get an elegant and proportional toy.

• yarn - 4 ply - I used 100% Cotton 35-4gr ( 25gr main color + 10gr secondary color)
I used Performance Cotton Queen, but you can also use Catania by Schachenmayr - 5 ply
• a bit of black yarn for sewing the eyelashes and the eyes
• crochet hook: 14 UK = 2,0mm = B1 US
• 5mm safety eyes – optional, I recommend to sew the eyes instead
• rattle ring – mine is 20mm diameter
• rattle – mine is Ø24 mm (do not use larger than 26 mm diameter)
• Polyester fiberfill • Stitch markers • Needle • Scissors
