I tend to knit a lot with thin yarn. I’m very content with a pair of small needles and some fingering weight yarn. But I also am impatient and need that instant gratification as much as the next knitter, so the Burl Hat was born. I draw inspiration a lot from nature, and this is no exception, with bobbles sprinkled in to mimic the burls and knots so often found on trees. This hat can be knit with either a bulky yarn, or a worsted weight held double, so your options are plentiful and it can be a great stash buster!

Note: The pattern calls for 110 yds of yarn, this is the quantity if you are knitting with bulky yarn. If knitting with worsted weight, 220 yds will be needed since the yarn is held doubled in that case.
