This pattern was named for one of the two streams that runs down the Ochils (the range of hills that runs along the north of the Wee County) - the Burn of Care and the Burn of Sorrow, which join at the Castle Campbell and become the Dollar Burn.

It takes 100g of the JC Rennie 4ply - either two 50g cakes or two balls of Unique Shetland 4ply, Supersoft Lambswool 4ply or Lambswool Cashmere 4ply - and 5 miniballs.

Knitted from the point to the shortest side with stripes inserted and then carried on using intarsia down the length of the shawl.
