A textured sock worked with only knits and purls, and suitable for both men and women. Four sizes (S, M, L, & XL) are charted so you can make these socks for almost anyone.

Instructions are included for both purl hexagon and knit hexagon versions and are easy to memorize as a “take along” project. Pick one or knit one of each.

Little Women was one of my very favorite books when I was little. Jo is knitting socks at various times throughout the book. At one point, Laurie is bored and sees the March sisters setting off from their house. He follows them and finds Meg sewing, Beth sorting pine cones, Amy sketching, and Jo knitting while reading aloud.

Laurie asks to join them. “‘Finish this story while I set my heel,’ said Jo, handing him the book.” This was his admission to the “Busy Bee Society”. I love that Jo must be such a great knitter that she can read to her sisters and knit a sock at the same time.
